Washington Cities Residents Directory
The Washington Residents Directory lists cities across the state with their own local pages. Each city page shows the county that handles court files, the closest courthouse, the city hall records office, and the main tools to look up people who live there. Pick a city from the list below to jump right to that page. The cities are shown in plain alphabetical order so you can scan fast.
Most public records for a Washington resident live with the county, not the city. Still, many cities run their own police records unit, their own code office, and their own business license list. These city level files can add useful info on top of what the county holds. Start with the city page, then follow the county link if you need the court file. The state wide tools at Washington Courts and the Washington State Digital Archives work for every city in the list.
How the City Residents Directory Works
Each city page in this Residents Directory lays out the same core info. You get the county that runs the court. You get the closest courthouse address. You get the city hall records office and the city police records unit. You get links to any online tools the city runs for itself. Most of the time, a city search will point you back to the county for the bulk of the record work, but the city page lists the local side too.
Cities do not keep birth or death records. Those sit with the Washington State Department of Health and with the county auditor for older files. Cities do keep police incident logs, code enforcement files, and business license lists. They also keep city council records and city contract files, which can tie a resident to a local board or a paid role.
Note: Only cities listed on this page have their own local directory page, so use the county page for any town that is not in the list.
